Panthers Win Program-Record 7th Dual Match with Victory at Elmira

Elmira, NY -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's wrestling team set a new program mark for dual wins in a season as they beat Elmira 35-18 for their 7th win of the season.

With the match starting at 285, the Panthers fell behind after losing the first bout by pin, but went in front with a pair of forfeit wins at 125 and 133. Mike Worsen picked up a 20-5 win by tech fall at 141 and then Nikolas Fegert pinned his opponent in 2:23 at 149 to extend Pitt-Bradford's lead to 23-6. 

Elmira cut the lead down to 8 after wins at 157 and 165, but Peyton Mitchell secured the team win with a pin in 2:09 at 174. DJ Slovick added six more points with a forfeit at 184 before the match ended with a decision loss for the Panthers at 197. 

After the conclusion of the dual match, two Panthers wrestled in exhibition matches. Both Gavin Thompson and Pavitar Singh won by pin in their bouts.

The victory moves Pitt-Bradford to 7-3 on the season. They will wrap up the Fall Semester portion of their schedule this weekend, when they wrestle in the RIT Invitational on Saturday. The action will begin at 9:30 a.m.
