Bradford, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's wrestling team is ready to kick off their 2025-26 campaign, looking to improve on their total of 6 dual meet victories while also increasing individual accolades at AMCC Championships and NCAA Qualifiers.
Last season, the Panthers posted a 6-10 record in dual meets, including a1-3 record against AMCC opponents. DJ Slovik earned 2nd Team All-AMCC Honors at 174 and posted the program's best-ever finish at NCAA Qualifiers, taking 5th place.
This season, former Interim Coach Terry Schwab has returned to lead the program as its head coach. Along with serving on the Panthers' coaching staff over the past 4 years, Schwab has a long, successful coaching record locally. He has tallied 197 wins and 6 Allegheny Mountain League Coach of the Year Awards at Cameron County and Smethport High Schools.
He will lead a team that has a strong mix of experienced upperclassmen and exciting newcomers. Slovick will lead the charge for the Panthers, as he closes on 100 career wins, entering his final season with 84 victories. Raymond Worsen, Nik Fegert, and Gavin Thompson will provide a veteran presence to the team, while Mike Worsen, Peyton Mitchell, and Chris Tigar are promising newcomers.
The Panthers will begin their season on November 1st, when they host a quad match featuring Elmira, Jamestown Community College, and Utica. They will also host dual meets against Saint Vincent, Penn State-Behrend, and Slippery Rock. They will head to Alfred State for the AMCC Dual Meet on Jan. 10, and Penn College for the AMCC Individual Championships on Feb. 14
