Bradford, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team saw a player recognized by the AMCC on Monday, as Libero Danielle Sasuga was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week after the Panthers' undefeated opening weekend.
The Sophomore from Aiae, HI averaged 5.81 digs per set, leading the defensive effort in a 4-0 week for Pitt-Bradford. The Panthers were victorious in two five-set thrillers on Saturday, as they battled back to win both matches on the day. Sasuga tallied 93 digs over the four matches and added six service aces, two kills, and 15 assists. She also posted a .936 serve receive percentage.
This is the first time Sasuga has been named an AMCC Player of the Week. She is the first Panther to earn the honor since Kayla Maslowski won the same honor in 2022.
The Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 3rd when they hit the road to take on Penn State-Beaver in Monaca, PA.
