Bradford, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford volleyball program had one of its players recognized by the AMCC on Monday as sophomore libero Danielle Sasuga picked up her second Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
Sasuga averaged 5.52 digs per set last week, leading Pitt-Bradford to a 4-1 mark on the week. She totaled 116 digs, a .936 reception percentage, and added 10 aces and 19 assists.
She currently leads the AMCC in total digs (269), and serves received (390), and is 2nd in digs per set (5.08). Additionally, she is tied for 2nd with 32 aces and tied for 4th with .60 serves per set.
This is the second time this season Sasuga has been named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week, as she also won the award after the opening weekend of the season.
Sasuga and the Panthers are currently 11-2 on the year. They will be back at home this week, as they will host Alfred in a non-conference matchup in KOA Arena. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start on Tuesday night.
