Buffalo, NY -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's swimming team was back in action at the SUNYAC Swimming Championships on Thursday, as they competed in four more events on day two. Through 14 events at the championship, the Panthers remain in 9th place with 48 team points.
On the second day of competition, 5 Panthers competed in preliminary rounds, while 1 qualified for finals. The Panthers also fielded a team in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Isabella Cercone was the lone Panther to qualify for finals, doing so in the 50-yard freestyle. She qualified 16th in prelims, with a time of 26.14. In the finals, she moved up a spot, placing 15th with a time of 26.17 seconds. Two other Panthers competed in the event but were not able to make the finals. Carly Evers finished 20th in 26.94 seconds, while Avery Yard was 34th with a time of 30.27 seconds.
Individually, two other Panthers competed. In the 500-yard freestyle, Emma Slocum posted a time of 6:10.46, which put her in 25th. Madison Foote swam in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing 23rd with a time of 2:44.15.
In the relay, the team oc Cercone, Evers, Slocum, and Yard posted a time of 1:50.02, which put them in 8th.
As the championship meet moves into its third day of competition, swimmers will compete in 10 more events. The Panthers will have swimmers in the following races.

Preliminary rounds begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, with finals starting at 5:30 p.m.
