Abel Named AMCC Offensive Player of the Week

Bradford, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's lacrosse program had one of its players recognized by the AMCC on Monday as Christina Abel was named the conference's Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.

Abel scored 9 goals on 14 shots in a 2-0 week for Pitt-Bradford. She also tallied nine ground balls and seven draw controls. She scored three second-half goals, including the game-winner, in a comeback victory over Mount Aloysius, before scoring six times in a 20-7 win over Hilbert.

This is the first time Abel has been recognized as an AMCC Athlete of the Week. Abel becomes the 4th different Panther to win the award. The Panthers have been represented 7 times in their inaugural season.

Abel and the Panthers will be back in action on Tuesday, April 14th, when they hit the road to take on Alfred State with a chance to secure the top seed in the upcoming AMCC Championship Tournament.
