Pittsburgh, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team brought its 2025-26 season to a close on Friday in the first round of the AMCC Championship Tournament. The sixth-seeded Panthers fell to third-ranked Alvernia 2-0in the postseason megamatch to end their campaign.
The Panthers began the day with a traditional match against the Wolves. The Panthers dropped the first game 880-734 to fall behind in the megamatch. Erin Wales paced the Panthers from the leadoff position, posting a 181. She was followed by Natalie Burrows, who bowled a 163, and Sara Paryz, who finished at 149. Katherine Cogdill rolled a 123, while Ella Card rounded out the scoring at 118.
With the season on the line, the Panthers took an early lead in the Baker match. They won the opening game 147-142, but fell behind after dropping the second game 194-154. The lead grew after a 188-176 loss in game three, and a 171-148 defeat in the fourth. In the final game, the Panthers fell 148-137, putting the final pinfall at 843-762 in favor of the Wolves.
The All-Tournament team will be released by the AMCC after the completion of competition on day 2.
