North Versailles, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team returned to the lanes for the first time in 2026 on Saturday, competing in a USBC Event. The Panthers competed in the Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Classic and finished 8th of 11 teams with a total score of 3942.
In the event the Panthers bowled 3 traditional games and three sets of 4 Baker bowling games. Final standings for the event were determined by total pinfall over the two disciplines.
In the Traditional format, the Panthers posted scores of 812, 695, and 709 for a total of 2216, finishing 8th.
Erin Wales led the way with a three-match score of 531, or a 177.0 average. Her high game was a 197 in the opener. Sarah Paryz bowled a 479 over the three games with a high score of 169. Her average was 159.6. Just behind her was Natalie Burrows at 443. Burrows started strong with scores of 163 and 164, but dropped back after a 109 in game three. Her average for the day was 147.6. Ella Card finished just under 400, posting a score of 392, with a high score of 140. Her average was 130.6. Finally, Katharine Codgill rounded out the scoring with a 371. Her high game was a 157, and she averaged 123.6.
In the Baker format, the Panthers were extremely consistent. They finished the session at 1726 overall with four game set scores of 582, 568, and 576. They remained in 8th place
The Panthers will be right back in action tomorrow, with another event in the Pittsburgh area. They will compete in the Western PA Shootout at New Great Valley Lanes in North Versailles. The action is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m.
