Beaver Falls, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford bowling team competed in the AMCC Bowling Championship on Friday, returning to the tournament for the first time since 2018-19.

Entering the event as the AMCC's #3 seed, the Panthers started off the championship tournament with an elimination matchup with #6 seeded Mount Aloysius. In a best two out of three matchup, the Panthers advanced into the double-elimination portion of the event with a 2-0 victory over the Mounties.

The Panthers started off with a 793-774 victory in the traditional format match. Brookelyn Garvey paced the Panthers with a score of 196. Megan Schwab also had a strong game for Pitt-Bradford, finishing just behind Garvey with a 190. Sarah Newland posted a 155 while Jordyn Graham and Ekaterina Wilson wrapped up the scoring with scores of 127 and 125 respectively.

They were able to secure the victory in game two with a 948-747 in a total pinfall Baker format match. After defeating the Mounties, the Panthers advanced into the double-elimination portion of the event with a matchup against #2 Medaille. After winning 2 of 3 against the Mavericks in a warmup dual match last weekend, the Pitt-Bradford was unable to pull off the upset, falling 2-0.

The Panthers improved their team score in the traditional format but were unable to keep up with Medaille, falling 945-825. Garvey finished with the Pitt-Bradford's high score, rolling a 199. Sarah Newland maintained her momentum from the first match of the day as she posted the Panthers' second-best score of 180. Schwab had a pinfall of 157 for the Panthers. Graham and Wilson improved their scores from the first traditional match but had the Panthers' two lowest scores of the matchup with a 145 and 144.

Needing a win to keep the match going, the Panthers struggled in their 4th game of the day losing the Baker match 931-747.
