Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team will return to the alley after seeing their 2020-21 season canceled due to COVID-19 mitigation protocols.
In 2019-20, the Panthers fielded a young squad but were able to make the AMCC Tournament by qualifying as the #6 seed with a 6-12 record in AMCC competition. Unfortunately, the Panthers saw their season come to an early close without playing in the AMCC Tournament, as the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak in March of 2020.
Jordyn Graham returns for the Panthers, after leading the team in Baker average as a freshman. She posted 15.80 pins per frame rate and bowled in the anchor spot for the Panthers. Also returning for the Panthers will be Ekaterina Wilson, who posted averages of 13.02 pins per frame in Baker and 12.81 in traditional.
Outside of Graham and Wilson, the Panthers will look to a large squad of newcomers who have yet to log any collegiate action. Abbie Buerkle and Isatu Koroma are two upperclassmen new to the team, while Brookelyn Garvey, Maria Torelli, and Sarah Newman represent the sophomore class and Rebecca Henry and Meghan Schwab are the team's lone freshmen.
The Panthers will kick off their season on Saturday, October 30th, when they host Penn State- Behrend in a dual match. It is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. in Byllye Lanes in Bradford.
