Seven Panthers Earn All-AMCC Honors, Ginsberg Named Newcomer of the Year

Bradford, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team tied a program record this week as 7 players were recognized as all-conference performers on Tuesday. Miranda Groll and Krislyn Clement were named to the first team, while Sara Stroup, Sasha Ginsberg and Lexi Najdusak earned 2nd team spots, and Hannah Schnetzer and Lilly Hamels made the third team. Ginsberg also received further individual accolades, as she was voted the conference’s Newcomer of the Year.

The Panthers used a potent offense to finish 65th in the NCAA in scoring (6.47 runs per game), 50th in batting average (.345), and 68th in on-base percentage (.410). These numbers led to 6 position players being selected as all-conference performers. Pitt-Bradford’s total number of 7 honorees matches the program’s best, which has been reached 5 previous times, most recently in 2021.

Senior Krislyn Clement from Webster, NY, led the team and was selected as the first team designated player. She was one of the most dangerous hitters in the AMCC this season, finishing the regular season with a .430/.476/.817 slash line. She totaled 7 home runs, 39 RBI, and 31 runs scored. She truly made her mark in conference play, where she led the league in batting average (.532), slugging percentage (1.149), home runs (7), and extra-base hits (15). This was Clement’s fourth all-conference selection, as she was named 2nd team pitcher and shortstop in 2024 and first team designated player in 2025.

Junior outfielder Miranda Groll of Pittsburgh, PA, joined Clement on the first team. Groll had a breakout season at the top of the lineup for the Panthers. She slashed .460/.512/.602, totaling 48 runs scored, 52 hits, 4 triples, a home run, 17 RBI, and 20 stolen bases. She led the league in runs scored, and was 3rd in the AMCC in batting average, 5th in on-base percentage, 2nd in hits, and 4th in stolen bases. She was also one of the top defensive outfielders in the league. She totaled 87 putouts in centerfield, covering the outfield from gap to gap, and even tallied 7 outfield assists. She previously earned 2nd team honors in 2025.

Freshman Sasha Ginsberg, an outfielder from Mississauga, ON, Canada, headlined the second team and was named the AMCC’s Newcomer of the Year. Ginsberg played 34 games in the outfield, slashing .469/.551/.541 with 46 hits, 31 runs, 27 RBI, and 19 stolen bases. She finished the season 3rd in the conference in batting average and on-base percentage, and was in the top 10 in hits, RBI, runs scored, and stolen bases. Ginsberg becomes the fourth Panther to be named the AMCC’s top freshman, joining Sara Stroup (2024), Sarah Angeletti (2010), and Mary Ann Colestro (1999).

Sara Stroup made her third straight appearance on the all-conference list, as she was voted to the 2nd team as a shortstop. The junior from Hughesville, PA, slashed .343/.408/.476, while tallying 36 hits, 24 runs scored, 11 doubles, 26 RBI and 8 stolen bases. In AMCC play, she increased her production, hitting .362 with 21 hits, 16 runs scored, a home run, and 17 RBI against AMCC opponents. She had previously been named to the first team as a utility player in 2024 and 2025.

Senior Lexi Najdusak, a native of Hubbard, OH, made her first appearance on the all-conference list after making the second team as an outfielder. Najdusak was a key part of the Pitt-Bradford lineup, constantly setting the table for the top of the order. She slashed .403/.493/.419 with 25 hits, 13 RBI, 3 stolen bases, and 22 runs scored. In AMCC play, she finished the season 1st in on-base percentage (.614), and 2nd in batting average (.528).

Catcher Lilly Hamels, a junior from Lake View, NY, was voted to the third team. Hamels caught 30 games for the Panthers, hitting .240 with 7 doubles, 23 hits, 18 RBI, and a home run. She caught all 16 conference games for the Panthers, slashing .271/.390/.417 with 11 RBI and 13 hits. She was one of the league's top defensive catchers, throwing out 8 runners stealing at a .222 clip, the 3rd best in the conference.

Last, but not least, freshman pitcher Hannah Schnetzer of Burlington, NJ, also made the third team. Schnetzer went 3-3 for Pitt-Bradford this season, posting a 3.07 ERA in 27.1 innings pitched. She was the Panthers' top pitcher in AMCC play, where she won all three of her games, including two complete-game shutouts. In conference play, her 1.75 ERA was the 2nd best in the AMCC.

The Panthers went 15-23 on the season and finished 4th in the final AMCC standings and at the championship tournament.
