Bradford, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team received accolades for its academic achievement last year, as 17 Panthers were named NFCA/Easton All-American Scholar Athletes. Additionally, the team posted a 3.728 GPA, which was the 20th-best average in Division III.
"I am extremely proud of our team and the work they put into succeeding on the field and in the classroom last year," said head coach Tina Phillips. "This is our highest finish for team GPA and the most honorees in one season that we have ever had. It is an amazing accomplishment to be in the top 20 out of nearly 400 teams."
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association ranks, honors, and recognizes the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. The Association provides a top 25 ranking of team GPA and names student-athletes who earned a 3.5 GPA or higher for the 2024-25 year.
The following 17 Pitt-Bradford student-athletes were recognized.
"One of our program goals is to be well-rounded and to have as much success academically as we have athletically," added Phillips. "The team stepped up individually and as a group, putting in a lot of hard work to achieve this."
9,199 collegiate student-athletes were recognized. NCAA Division III led the way with 2,565 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2024-25.
