Bradford, Pa. -- Easton and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released their All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors on Tuesday, and 13 University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Softball program members earned the honor for the 2023-24 academic year.
Each year, Easton and the NFCA recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. They rank all submitted teams by their GPA and honor student-athletes for individual success. This season, 8,054 student-athletes were recognized.
In the 2023-24 academic year, the Panthers finished with a team GPA of 3.652, the 27th best in Division III. It is the highest ranking in program history.
Along with team accolades, 13 Pitt-Bradford student-athletes were recognized individually. To receive the honor, players must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher for the entire academic year.
"What a great accomplishment for the players, our team, and the program," said head coach Tina Phillips. "Academics is a strong foundation of our program, and they have proven that once again."
