Panthers Dropped by Lions on Senior Day

Bradford, PA — The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team wrapped up its regular season on Saturday, hosting Penn State-Altoona in a dual meet that also served as Pitt-Bradford's senior day. The Panthers celebrated brothers Conan and Duncan Young, but could not pull off the victory in the meet, falling 131-45.

Before the start of the action, the Panthers recognized two seniors, Conan and Duncan Young. Conan has had a highly decorated career with the Panthers. He has made the AMCC All-Conference Team 7 times over three events, including three straight conference titles in the 1650 Freestyle. Duncan has also had a strong career with the Panthers, picking up many event wins across a range of disciplines. He is a three-time Academic All-AMCC awardee. 

Conan Young had the only victory for the Panthers on the day. He was victorious in the 1000-yard freestyle, winning dominantly. His time of 10:12.12 was more than 39 seconds ahead of his competition. He also added a 2nd place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, where his time of 58. 13 was 3.4 seconds behind the winner.

Duncan Young and Eric Reynolds each came away with a pair of runner-up finishes. Duncan began with the 200-yard individual medley, finishing in 2:09.37. He followed that with a 2nd place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.00. Reynolds was just out-touched in the 50-yard freestyle sprint. He posted a time of 24.97, just .69 seconds after the winner. He then switched up to the much longer 500-yard freestyle, taking second with a time of 5:29.26.

Greg Tyler and Peyton Haight each added 3rd-place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle (Tyler), as well as the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke (Haight).

 

The Panthers have completed their regular season, finishing with a 3-4 dual meet record. They will spend the next few weeks preparing for the postseason, as they will make their debut in the 2026 SUNYAC Championships in Buffalo. The event will last from Wednesday, February 18th, through Saturday, February 21st.
