Young Brothers Combine for 5 Wins as Panthers Fall to by Roberts Wesleyan

Bradford, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team returned to home action on Saturday as they opened 2026 with a 161-90 loss to Roberts Wesleyan.

Conan Young led the team with 3 individual victories. His day began with his signature event, the long-distance 1650-yard freestyle. Young finished the mile in 18:01.72, which was two minutes faster than the competition. He followed that up with his second win of the day, this time in the 100-yard butterfly. Young posted a winning time of 57.97 seconds, completing the race .45 seconds ahead of the runner-up. He finished the day with a win in a 3rd different discipline, this time winning the 100-yard backstroke. He won the race by 1.59 seconds with a time of 59.56 seconds.

Duncan Young also had a strong day of competition, winning two events and finishing as the runner-up in the third. His first win came in the 200-yard freestyle. Young posted a winning time of 1:53.03, which was 5.25 seconds ahead of the field. He was even more dominant in his second win, taking the 500-yard freestyle. Young finished in 5:14.30 seconds, winning the race by 23 seconds flat. For his third individual race of the meet, Duncan swam in the 200-yard individual medley. He finished 2nd with a time of 2:11.55 seconds.

Eric Reynolds swam in three individual races and took 2nd in two and 3rd in the other. His two runner-up finishes came in the 50 and 100-yard breaststroke. He was 2nd in the 50 with a time of 30.60 seconds, finishing the race 2.12 seconds behind the winner. In the 100, he posted a time of 1:06.36 and was 4 seconds off the pace. He finished the day in the same race as Duncan Young, finishing third in the 200-yard individual Medley. He posted a time of 2:16.93.

Two other Panthers were able to pick up a runner-up finish at the meet. Peyton Haight was 2nd in the 500 free, posting a time of 5:37.30. He also took 4th in the 200 with a time of 2:06.19. Greg Tyler also had a 2nd and 4th place finish. He was 2nd in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing the sprint in 25.22 seconds, .36 seconds behind the winner. Tyler was also 4th in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in 1:15.74. Camden Tetenov added a 3rd-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 28.26 seconds.

The Panthers are now 3-2 in dual meets this season. They will be back in action on Saturday, January 24th, when they face Alfred on the road.
