Panthers Mover to 3-1 with win over Allegheny

Bradford, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team picked up its third dual meet win of the season on Saturday, taking down Allegheny 90-57.

A pair of Panthers picked up a maximum of 29 points in the dual meet. Duncan Young and Eric Reynolds each won their individual events and swam on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team. 

Duncan Young started his day with a 10-second victory in the 200-yard freestyle. Young finished the race in 1:55.71 and was 9.60 seconds ahead of the field. He followed that up with a win in the 500-yard freestyle. He finished the race in 5:15.03, finishing 28.4 seconds ahead of his teammate, Peyton Haight.

Eric Reynolds also won his individual events. He began with a win in the multidisciplinary 400-yard individual medley. He posted a time of 4:56.71, finishing 14.26 ahead of Haight. Reynolds added his second win in the 100-yard breaststroke. He won the race by 12.49 seconds, finishing with a time of 1:08.00.

Conan Young picked up one win and a runner-up finish in his individual events. Young won his signature race, the 100-yard freestyle, winning by 26.60 seconds with a time of 10:20.04. He took 2nd in a tightly contested 100-yard butterfly. Young finished with a time of 58.44 seconds, finishing .97 seconds behind the winner.

The Panthers clinched the victory with a win in the 200-yard freestyle. The team of Conan Young, Greg Tyler, Eric Reynolds, and Duncan Young finished the relay in 1:41.10 seconds, nearly 30 seconds ahead of the second team of Haight, Camden Tetenov, Evan Whitmore, and Luke Kerr.

The Panthers are now 3-1 in dual meets this season. They will be back in action next weekend, as they head to Fredonia State for the three-day Blue Devil Invitational. Preliminary rounds begin on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with finals starting at 5:00 p.m.
