Panthers Take Down Blue Devils in Season Opener

Bradford, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team opened the 2025-26 campaign with a win on Saturday, defeating Fredonia 93-46.

The Panthers started the meet with an uncontested win in the 200-yard medley relay. Duncan Young, Eric Reynolds, Conan Young, and Greg Tyler finished the race in 1:52.30.

Conan Young started his season with a pair of individual victories. He took the 100-yard butterfly in 58.39 seconds, winning by 6.51 seconds. He closed the meet dominantly, winning the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.03. He finished more than 45 seconds ahead of the pack.

Eric Reynolds was also able to pick up a pair of event victories for the Panthers. He started by taking the 200-yard individual medley, finishing in 2:15.09. He won the race by just under 7 seconds. He then won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.81.

Duncan Young was able to pick up one win and a runner-up finish. He was 1st in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.04 and then took 2nd in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.75. He just missed out on a second victory, finishing the backstroke race .39 seconds behind the winner.

Peyton Haight won the long-distance 100-yard freestyle, finishing the race in 12:14.79. He finished 22 seconds ahead of his opponent. Haight was also 3rd in the 50-yard freestyle (29.91) and 100-yard backstroke (1:07.66).

Greg Tyler had a pair of runner-up finishes. He was outtouched in the 50, finishing the sprint in 25.32 seconds, just .08 off the winner. He closed the day with a 2nd place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:16.42.

Camden Tetenov was 2nd in the 200-yard freestyle (2:18.68), 2nd in the 100-yard freestyle (1:01.37), and 4th in the 500-yard freestyle (6:38.85).

The Panthers are 1-0 and will be back in action next weekend when they host Jamestown Community College. The dual meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, in the Duke Aquatic Center.
