Bradford, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Soccer men's soccer team will look to continue to climb up the AMCC standings in 2025, building off a return to the AMCC Tournament last season.
Pitt-Bradford finished 4-13-1 in 2024 with a 2-5-1 mark in AMCC play. They finished 6th in the conference standings, earning their first postseason bid in 3 seasons. The Panthers were led by freshman Kyle Carlsen, who scored 8 goals and added 2 assists from the midfield in his debut campaign. Sophomore Bailee Verdill added 6 goals, while his classmate Brady Hathaway tallied 3.
The Panthers return nearly the entire squad from last season, losing just 1 senior who scored twice. They will look for Verdill and Hathaway to lead the attack, while Carlsen takes charge in the center of the pitch. Alex Stockton, who started every game in the midfield, and Conner Rudsell will anchor the back line for the Panthers. Chris House is slated to start between the sticks after missing most of his freshman season with an injury.
"We are excited to get the season started with this group of guys," said head coach Nate Whitehurst. "We have more talent and depth than we have had in the past few years, and it will be a fun season!"
The Panthers were predicted to finish the season in 7th place in the AMCC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
The Panthers begin their season on Saturday, August 30th, when they take on Valley Forge as part of a two-day event at Saint Vincent College. They will open their home slate on Wednesday, Sept. 10th, against Keystone. AMCC play will begin on Saturday, Sept. 27th at La Roche.
