Bradford, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's lacrosse team had a player honored by the United East on Monday, as sophomore defender Alex Arno was named the conference's men's lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
Arno led the Pitt-Bradford defense in a dominating week, as the Panthers went 2-0 while outscoring opponents 38-12. He totaled 10 ground balls and 5 caused turnovers on the week. In the 20-2 win over Hilbert, he tallied 7 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers.
This is the first time Arno has been recognized as a player of the week by the United East. He is the second Panther to earn the honor, as Hunter Shank has won it twice this season.
Arno and the rest of the Panthers will hit the road this weekend, as they begin United East play against Cairn. The opening faceoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. on Saturday in Langhorne, PA.
