Shank Named United East Defensive Player of the Week

Bradford, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's lacrosse team saw its first member recognized by the United East Conference on Monday as Hunter Shank was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.

In a 1-1 week for the Panthers, Shank tallied 36 saves in the Pitt-Bradford goal while posting a 62% save percentage. He also picked up 6 ground balls and caused 2 turnovers.  In the overtime win over Juniata, he made 23 saves on 32 shots.

Shank currently leads the United East in Goals Against Average (7.81), Saves (64), and Save Percentage (64.0).

As the program has just joined the United East this season, he is the first Panther to be recognized by the conference. He previously won the same honor from the AMCC last season.

Shank and the Panthers will be back in home action on Wednesday, Mar. 4th, when they host Keuka at Rathburn Family Field at 4:00 p.m.
