Panthers in 7th Through 18 Holes at Region V Showcase

Clinton, OH -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team began the final event of their Fall season on Monday as they began competition at the Region V Showcase, at Catawba Island Club in Ohio. The Panthers shot a 326 in the first round, putting them in 7th place.

The Panthers score is 22 strokes behind the leaders, Trine. Pitt-Bradford trails Mount Union by 5 strokes, and Albion by 6.  They are one stroke ahead of Pitt-Greensburg, and 3 ahead of the AMCC Champions, Mount Aloysius.

Michael Peterson led the Panthers, posting an 8-over par 80. He is in 21st place. Evan Steffen used an eagle on the par 5 8th hole to finish one stroke behind Peterson at 81. He is in 26th. Max Bizzak fired an 82 and is in 31st, while Nathan Close rounded out the scoring at 83. Brady Susi and Levi Howard missed out on scoring spots, finishing at 88 and 95 respectively.

The Panthers will be back in action for the final round tomorrow with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m.
