Panthers in 3rd Place Through First Round at AMCC Championships

State College, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh of Bradford golf team had a strong start at the 2025 AMCC Golf Championship Tournament at Toftrees Golf Resort on Monday. Through 18 holes, the Panthers are in 3rd place with a score of 314.

The Panthers team score of 314 puts them 7 strokes behind the leaders, Penn State-Altoona and 3 behind second-place Mount Aloysius.

Michael Peterson and Evan Steffen led the charge for the Panthers, as they both are tied for 3rd after shooting 3-over 75s. They are both one stroke behind the leaders. Peterson shot an even-par 36 on the back 9, including a pair of birdies. Steffen also carded a pair of birdies on the round, shooting a 38 on the front and 37 on the back.

Seniot Max Bizzak shot an 8-over 80 and is currently tied for 14th place. Brady Susi rounded out the scoring for Pitt-Bradford at 84. He is in a tie for 22nd. Nathan Close missed out on the scoring positions at 85, and is tied at 25th place.

With their third place finish in round one, the Panthers have qualified for the last grouping, and will be playing with Penn State-Altoona and Mount Aloysius. Their tee times will begin at 10:40 a.m.
