Altoona, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team completed their tune-up for next week's AMCC Championship Tournament on Monday as it finished in 10th place at the Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic, hosted by Penn State-Altoona.
The Panthers added 8 strokes to their round one score to post a 325, dropping them one spot into 10th place for the event. Their total score for the event was 642, and they were 2 strokes behind Allegheny in 9th.
Three Panthers tied for the team lead on day two as Max Bizzak, Evan Steffen, and Brady Susi all posted 11-over par 81s. Bizzak and Steffen both added strokes, while Susi improved his score by 4 strokes. Nathan Close moved into the final scoring position for the Panthers, trimming his round one score by 5 strokes to finish at 82. Michael Peterson missed out on a scoring position, posting an 85.
For the event, Steffen was the top Panther finisher, posting a two-round score of 157, which put him in a tie for 34th. Bizzak finished tied for 45 at 160, while Peterson finished two strokes behind him, 162, in 56th. Brady Susi moved up 3 spots on day two to finish in 65th place with a score of 166. Finally, Nathan Close shot a 169 to finish in 71st.
The Panthers will head to State College next week to play in the AMCC Championship Tournament at Toftrees Resort. The Panthers will play a practice round on Sunday, before beginning the two-round championship tournament on Monday.
