Allison Park, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team was back on the links on Monday, as they traveled to the Pittsburgh area to play in the La Roche Invitational at Wildwood Golf Club. The Panthers finished in 4th place with a score of 328.
The Panthers finished 17 strokes behind the winners, Pitt-Greensburg, but were in a tight group that finished in the top 5. They were 5 strokes behind Penn State-Behrend in 2nd and just one behind the hosts, who took third.
The top finisher for the Panthers was sophomore Michael Peterson, who fired a 5-over par 77 to finish in a tie for 2nd place. He was the only Panther to finish in the 70s. Even Steffen picked up a top-10 finish, firing an 80 to finish tied for 10th. Brady Susi was two strokes behind him, posting a score of 82 to finish tied for 17th. Max Bizzak rounded out the scoring for Pitt-Bradford, finishing in a tie for 44th at 89. Nathan Close missed out on a scoring spot, shooting a 93 to finish tied for 55th. Two Panthers also played as individuals at the tournament. Andrew Heinze and Levi Howard each finished at 89, tying Bizzak.
The Panthers will have a week to regroup before returning to action next Monday at the Grove City Invitational.
