Close Named AMCC Golfer of the Week

Bradford, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team saw one of its team members recognized by the conference on Wednesday, as Nathan Close was named Golfer of the Week by the AMCC.

Close shot a 4-over 76 at the Saint Vincent Invitational on Monday, putting him in a tie for sixth place. He was the joint low scorer for Pitt-Bradford as the Panthers had a 6-stroke tournament victory. Close was consistent on the afternoon, carding 14 pars and 4 bogeys.

In just his second week of competition, this is the freshman's first AMCC Golfer of the Week award. He is the first Pitt-Bradford golfer to win the award since the 2019 season, when 3 Panthers won the award 5 times.

Close and the rest of the Panthers will be back in action on Monday, Sept. 22nd, when they head to Pittsburgh to compete in the La Roche Invitational.
