Sharon, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team brought their 2024-25 season to a close on Saturday, as they competed in the Thiel Spring Invitational at Avalon at Buhl Golf Course in Sharon, Pa. The Panthers finished with a team score of 319 to take 4th place.
The Panthers posted their 2nd best score of the year and their lowest total away from their home course. They were 8 strokes behind Grove City in 3rd, but 2 ahead of Geneva and Thiel who tied for 5th.
Brody Kamuda was the low-scorer for the Panthers, finishing his collegiate career with an 8-over 78, good for 9th place. He carded an Eagle on the front 9 as he posted a 37 on the first 9 holes. Just one stroke behind Kamuda was freshman Brady Susi. He carded a 37 on the back on the way to a final tally of 79. He placed 13th. Max Bizzak and Michael Peterson finished up the scoring for the Panthers as they each turned in an 81. They finished in a tie for 21st. Ben Tubbs missed out on scoring, posting an 82 to place 28th.
Two Panthers also competed as individuals. Andrew Heinze shot an 81 to finish tied with Bizzak and Tubbs, while Shane Wetherington finished 50th with a 92.
The Panthers finish the year with a team scoring average of 326.54. Ben Tubbs was the lowest scorer at 80.77, while Brody Kamuda finished with an average of 81.38. Max Bizzak, Brady Susi, and Michael Peterson all finished with averages separated by less than a stroke. Bizzak wrapped up the year at 83, Susi at 83.3,8, and Peterson at 83.69. Playing mostly as individuals, Andrew Heinze averaged 86.13 strokes over 8 events, while Shane Wetherington played in 4 at 91.75.
