Norris, Pryor Score 1,000th Point as Panthers Drop Finale

Greensburg, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team brought its 2025-26 campaign to a close on Saturday as it took on Pitt-Greensburg on the road. Days after the Panthers had a player surpass 1,000 career points, two more players joined the club as Xander Norris and Kaleb Pryor both reached the milestone, in a 110-97 loss to the Bobcats.

Pitt-Bradford got off to a slow start in the finale, allowing the hosts to jump out to a 7-0 lead. Norris finally got the Panthers on the board after nearly two minutes with a three from the wing. The Panthers tied the game minutes later, as Jeremy Rodriguez and Norris made back-to-back layups. Unfortunately, the Bobcats quickly countered and scored 8 straight to restore their advantage. The Panthers responded, catching fire from beyond the arc to eventually tie the game at 20. Tra Edwards scored 8 points in a 2-minute stretch that also included a Rodriguez layup and a three from Coby Farley

The Bobcats stayed in front with 4 quick layups, but the Panthers were able to stay within a possession of the hosts due to a Norris three and a pair of Clarence Cobbins free throws. Pitt-Bradford continued to stick with the Bobcats, using 7 points from Niare Poplar to keep the deficit at 4. David Ramos matched a Pitt-Greensburg-point play with 3:38 left in the half, but the Bobcats were able to extend their lead to 10 points. In the final moments, Coby Farley drew a pair of fouls and made 4 from the line to send the game to the break with the Panthers trailing 53-47.

Cobbins started the second half with a short jumper, and then after 5 straight by the hosts, the Panthers cut the lead to 4 with a pair of Norris layups and a Logan Joncas three. The Panthers were able to keep the deficit in check with threes by Rodriguez and Edwards, but Pitt-Greensburg eventually pushed their lead back to 10 with 13 minutes left. Additional threes by Farley, Edwards, and Norris kept the lead at 5 points, but the Panthers could not find a stop and convert it into a basket to close the lead further.

With 7 minutes remaining, Norris hit a three-pointer, and then a possession later, added a free throw, giving him 1,000 career collegiate points. Trailing by 11, Rodriguez made two more threes around a Cobbins putback to cut the lead to 7, but it was as close as the Panthers would get to the Bobcats. The hosts went on a 9-2 lead to put the game away. With 16 seconds left, Pryor still had headlines to grab, as he made a floating layup with 15 seconds left to record his 1,000th career point.

Xander Norris led the way with 21 points. He made 8-15 from the field, including 4-9 from three. Jeremy Rodriguez added 20 points, making 7-12 overall and 3-5 from beyond the arc. Two seniors reached double digits off the bench in their final games, as Tra Edwards scored 16 and Coby Farley added 12. Clarence Cobbins scored 8 points and collected a team high 8 rebounds.

Norris and Pryor became the 29th and 30th players to reach 1,000 career points while playing for the Panthers.
