Bradford, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team had five of its players recognized by the AMCC on Tuesday, as five seniors were named to the conference’s all-conference teams. Ethan Zimmerman received 2nd team honors, while Noah Avey, Alex Ognen, Collin Porter, and Patrick Synan made the 3rd team.
With 5 players earning all-conference honors, the 2026 version of the Panthers joins 4 other seasons that have had five players recognized, 2024, 2006, 2005, and 2004.
Ethan Zimmerman, a left-handed pitcher from Denver, CO, made the 2nd team as a relief pitcher. Zimmerman was Pitt-Bradford's top bullpen arm this season, making 16 appearances with a 3.90 ERA in 27.2 innings pitched. He struck out 14 batters and tallied 3 saves. His 1.10 WHIP in AMCC play was tied for the best in the conference among relief pitchers. He was previously a 2nd team selection for the 2025 season.
Two pitchers and 2 position players were named to the third team.
Right-handed starter Collin Porter of Wilcox, PA, was the Panthers' ace this season, often drawing the toughest pitching matchups. He posted a 4.66 ERA for the season, with 44 Ks in 46.1 innings pitched. He finished the year 5th in ERA, 7th in K/9, and 7th in WHIP. In AMCC play, he finished 4th in ERA (3.48), and 6th in k/9 (8.29). He previously made the 3rd team in 2025.
Senior starting pitcher Patrick Synan of Pittsburgh, PA, makes his first appearance on the All-Conference honors list. Synan finished the year 3-4 with a 5.44 ERA, in 48.0 innings pitched with 35 strikeouts. He did his best work in AMCC play, where he was 3-1 with a 4.82 ERA in 37.1 innings pitched with 26 strikeouts. In conference play, he was 5th in wins (3), 7th in ERA, 8th in strikeouts (36), and 7th in WHIP (1.45).
Infielder Alex Ognen, a local product from Smethport, PA, was named to the third team at second base. Ognen slashed .305/.414/.356 in AMCC play, as he led the Panthers back to the postseason in his senior year. He tallied 28 hits, 6 doubles, 23 runs, and 10 stolen bases overall this year, with 18 hits coming against AMCC opponents. He was a solid presence up the middle, posting a .973 fielding percentage in conference play.
Noah Avey, a senior from St. Petersburg, FL, was named third team utility player after splitting time at catcher and designated hitter. He slashed .313/.426/.417 with 30 hits, 17 runs scored, 10 doubles, and 10 RBI. In conference play, he hit .328, collecting 21 of his 30 hits on the season, including 7 doubles. He threw out 7 potential base stealers in 24 attempts. This is his 2nd all-conference honor, as he was named 3rd team utility player in 2024.
The Panthers went 12-24 this season, finishing 6th in the final AMCC standings and at the championship tournament.
