Pitt-Bradford Pairs with United Way for Youth in Sports Day

Bradford, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford athletics department paired with the Bradford chapter of the United Way to host a Youth in Sports Clinic in KOA Arena last Sunday.

Student Athletes and Coaches from six different Pitt-Bradford athletic programs worked with more than 35 children from the Bradford area in a 3-hour multi-sport clinic.

“Everyone involved had a great time,” said athletic director Bret Butler. “The attendees, parents, student athletes and coaches I have spoken to all have expressed how they enjoyed their time at the clinic.”

Youth attendees had a chance to meet Pitt-Bradford coaches and student athletes, while also participating in three clinic sessions with the men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, baseball and softball teams.

“We have made a concerted effort this year to connect with some of the youth organizations in the area,” added Butler. “Whether it is working with the United Way, Care for Children or the local school system, we are all benefitting from the increased interactions with the local community.”
