Pitt-Bradford Swim Teams Get Rowdy At Winter Florida Training Trip

From Head Coach Doug Alban:

"Let's Get Rowdy!
If you have ever heard or been a part of performing the pre-meet Pitt-Bradford swim teams cheer, you know that our squads get loud and rowdy every meet. However, that rowdy energy and enthusiasm does not start and end on meet days. Every day at practice, the team carries that spirit with them especially when it comes down to their most challenging week of the year: the winter break training trip. This year, the team traveled to Daytona Beach, Fla., for a week of intense training. Twice a day the team piled into the rental vans and traveled 10 minutes to the Ormond YMCA for a long course or short course practice unlike any they have faced this season. Traveling somewhere new during this time of intense training is very important for the growth and experience of the team. The trip helps build comradery, teamwork and resilience, all while allowing the team to have fun outside of the pool exploring the beach and boardwalk. This year, the team had a little extra excitement due to weather. Several practices had to be moved to Daytona State's Aquatic Center because of the surprising cold and rainy weather. However, this weather did not stop the Panthers from excelling during any of their dryland, yoga, or in-pool practices. In addition to the regular practices, the team spent their last day racing the University of the Cumberland's swim team for a fun and exciting competition. The team has shared their memories, photos and a video of the "aftermath" of the Cumberland-Bradford competition on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook at UPBswim."
