BRADFORD, Pa. – Junior goalkeeper Derrick Brock has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the period running from Sept. 1-4, conference officials announced Monday.
"Derrick has been playing extremely well for us so far this year," Head Coach Nate Whitehurst said. "He is also continuing to get better as the season progresses."
In the team's three games this past week, Brock saved 25 shots in goal. In Friday's 1-0 loss, he posted a .929 save percentage, as he made 13 total saves. For the week, he posted a .806 save percentage.
With this season serving as his first action on the field for the Panthers, the Accra, Ghana, native's 41 total saves on the year lead the AMCC.
The Panthers will be in action next on Wednesday as Alfred State comes to Pitt-Bradford for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
