Pitt-Bradford Athletic Summer Camp Information

BRADFORD, Pa. - The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford basketball, swimming and soccer teams will be hosting instructional camps this summer for participants ages 4-18.

The Panther basketball teams will host a co-ed skills camp for students in grades 3-11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 5-8 in the Richard E. and Ruth McDowell Sport and Fitness Center. Camp activities include fundamental stations, games, lecture and 5-on-5 games. The cost is $135.

Head women's coach Sean Brown and members of the Panther hoops teams will lead the camps. In two seasons with the program, Brown has led the Pitt-Bradford women to 34 wins.

Swimming head coach Doug Alban will host three clinics focusing on the disciplines of free style, stroke, and individual medley for children ages 10-18 in the Paul C. Duke Aquatic Center. The freestyle clinic is June 21-23, the stroke clinic is July 12-14, and the individual medley clinic is July 26-28.

The cost is $150 per clinic or $400 if registering for all three. A team discount is available for five or more athletes from the same YMCA, USA Swimming, high school or summer swim team for $120 per athlete. Registration is limited to the first 40 participants.

Each clinic will consist of four sessions: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday.

A group activity will be held Thursday from 12:30 to 2 p.m., and participants are expected to bring their own lunch for Thursday and a water bottle for each session.

Alban was a NCAA Division I swimmer for Loyola College and has been coaching at every level of swimming over the past decade. For the past eight years, he has coached multiple NCAA Division III All-Americans and postgraduate scholarship winners at the collegiate level. Additionally, he has coached at the famed North Baltimore Aquatic Club under the tutelage of Bob Bowman, coach of 23-time gold medal Olympian, Michael Phelps.

The Panther soccer teams will host five sessions of instructional camps throughout the months of June and July for players ages 4 to 14. Camps start at 9 a.m. with half days scheduled to conclude at 11:30 a.m. and full days at 3 p.m. The complete schedule is as follows:

June 26-30

  • Youth Little Stars Camp I (ages 4-6): $95 for a half day
  • Youth Soccer Camp I (ages 7-14): $95 for a half day
  • Youth Soccer Camp I (ages 7-14): $165 for a full day

July 7-10

  • Youth Little Stars Camp II (ages 4-6): $95 for a half day
  • Youth Soccer Camp II (ages 7-14): $95 for a half day

Each camper needs to bring his or her own equipment, including cleats, running shoes (flats), shin guards, soccer socks and a water bottle.
