Ryan Boyer played a big role in the Panthers' run to the AMCC tournament semifinals. In two games last week Boyer had a 3.60 in 15 innings pitched.
The sophomore right-hander tossed eight scoreless in the team's series-clinching victory over Penn State Altoona in the first round of the tournament. He gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out seven. It was his second straight start of throwing eight innings and not allowing a run.
The Bradford native went seven innings against Mt. Aloysius in an elimination game, helping the Panthers to a 9-7 victory. He tied his career-high with nine strikeouts against the Mounties.
In his final three starts, Boyer went 3-0 with a 2.35 ERA with 25 strikeouts.
