BRADFORD, Pa. -- Junior Lucas Cerchiaro has been named a University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Athlete of the Week for his performance during the period of Nov. 27-Dec. 2.
Cerchiaro swam in his final meet as a Pitt-Bradford Panther this past weekend and went out with a bang.
Pitt-Bradford set school records in seven total events and Cerchiaro had a hand in four of them.
The junior shattered the Pitt-Bradford 400-IM school record, finishing second in the finals with a time of 4:15.40 to beat the previous record time of 4:21.11 by nearly six seconds.
He was also part of the 400-medley relay team that broke a school record with a time of 7:16.62, finishing fourth in the event. He swam on the school-record breaking 200-medley relay team that timed in at 1:37.49 for second place.
He finished up his career with one final school record, helping the 400-freestyle relay team to a third-place finish with a time of 3:15.73.
Cerchiaro will be transferring to the University of Pittsburgh main campus this spring.
