BRADFORD, Pa. -- Senior second baseman Jay Clinger of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team has been named a Pitt-Bradford Athlete of the Week for his performance during the final week of the season.
During the team's five games in the final week of the season, Clinger hit .421 with a base hit in each game, highlighted by a 3-for-4 performance against Penn State-Altoona in game two of the AMCC First Round.
The senior also hammered a three-run homer in the final series of the regular season Friday to help power the Panthers to a victory and secure a home playoff series.
On the week, he drove in six runs while scoring four and knocking two doubles.
He slugged .684 and reached base at a .522 mark.
