BRADFORD, Pa. -- Senior guard Ali Rinfrette of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team has been named a Pitt-Bradford Athlete of the Week for her performance during the period of Feb. 18-25.
Rinfrette put together a huge week in the Panthers' two playoff games, ending her historic career playing some terrific basketball. On Wednesday, her 24 points led the Panthers to a win and knocked out the seven-time defending AMCC Champion La Roche.
Saturday, she dropped 34 points while sinking seven three-pointers to take the No. 2 seeded Mount Aloysius to double overtime in the conference semifinals. In the two playoff games, she shot 42.9 percent, made nine three-pointers, grabbed eight rebounds per game and dished seven assists per game. She also blocked four shots against Mount that led to key stops down the stretch.
Rinfrette represented Pitt-Bradford on the AMCC Championship All-Tournament Team.
She is also up for HEROSports.come's D3 Women's Basketball HERO of the Week for the second time this season, which can be voted on here.
